Reporting to the Deputy Director-General, this position will provide strong, effective, visionary leadership, innovative thinking and strategic advice to support the Housing and Homelessness Services Division, optimising use of available resources and establishing a culture of teamwork, transparency and openness while maintaining strong communication channels between the Office of Director-General and Minister's office.
This position will:
• Foster and develop effective communication and liaison between the Office for Director-General and ministerial office to better understand the needs and expectations of the Director-General and Minister's Office.
• Partner with senior managers across divisions, providing authoritative advice and support to deliver high quality information to the Deputy Director-General, Office of Director-General and minister's office that supports the department's strategic objectives.
• Manage the coordination of the preparation of accurate and timely responses to ministerial office requests for information, including briefings relating to the department's activities.
• Provide strategic, consistent and timely advice to the Deputy Director-General, Office of the Director-General and Minister's office regarding contentious, timecritical or confidential matters.
• Coordinate the collection and integration of information and briefings from a variety of sources including the Assistant Director-General, General Manager and Executive Directors to provide the Deputy Director-General with an executive level consolidated briefing, recommendations and advice and maintain up-to-date knowledge of issues across the division's portfolio.
• Ensure the achievement of activities, including the ongoing development, implementation and review of strategies, policies and protocols, which appropriately support the Deputy Director-General.
• Plan, organise and manage the unit's responsibilities, including fostering a professional environment to encourage commitment, ethical behaviour, staff wellbeing, skills development, professional growth and continuous improvement.

• While there are no mandatory qualifications for this role, housing experience and knowledge will be highly regarded.
