Job Description
This role plays a key part in the development and delivery of environmental support to residents and businesses across the region, encompassing operational and strategic environmental health work:
* Develop, implement, and manage environmental health and sustainability programs.
* Oversee and enforce environmental health regulations within the organisation.
* Provide expert advice on ESG matters to stakeholders and the wider community.
* Conduct environmental health risk assessments and devise mitigation strategies.
* Lead public education and awareness initiatives on environmental health issues.
* Collaborate with external agencies to advance environmental health goals.
* Monitor and report on the effectiveness of the implemented sustainability programs.
* Champion the organisation's environmental health and sustainability mission.
The Successful Applicant
A successful Senior Environmental Health Officer should have:
* A degree in Environmental Health, Public Health, or a related field.
* Proven experience working in environmental health within the public sector.
* Demonstrated leadership skills with the ability to drive ESG initiatives.
* Strong knowledge of environmental health legislation and compliance requirements.
* Excellent communication skills to effectively liaise with stakeholders and the community.
