Housing Support Professional
Our organisation seeks a skilled and compassionate Housing Officer to join its Ipswich team. This role involves supporting individuals and families through safe, sustainable housing.
The successful candidate will play a vital part in the housing journey of tenants from all walks of life—delivering tenancy services with empathy, fairness, and respect.
Key Responsibilities:
* Manage a diverse housing portfolio including allocations, inspections, rent, and arrears.
* Support tenants throughout the housing process—focusing on stability, empowerment, and wellbeing.
* Coordinate property maintenance and contractor liaison.
* Handle complaints and feedback processes professionally and proactively.
* Ensure compliance with relevant tenancy legislation and internal processes.
* Record and report on housing activity, tenancy trends, and program needs.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
* Experience in tenancy, community services, or property management.
* Passion for housing justice and ability to balance practical and personal support.
* Certificate IV in Social Housing or related community services qualification (or equivalent experience).
* Current driver's licence.
* Intermediate computer skills (MS Word, Excel, Outlook).
* Knowledge of Residential Tenancies and Rooming Accommodation Act (desirable).
