Chandler Macleod is working with a large company who currently have an exciting employment opportunity for an Irrigation Maintenance Worker for a temporary 6 month position located in Perth. This position is a
8.5 hour day, 76 hour fortnight with RDO with no overtime. Therefore one week would be 34 hours, the second at 42.5 hours.

Key responsibilities:
- Installation and maintenance of irrigation systems to a high standard to ensure the City's valuable water resources are used effectively and efficiently.
- Track water usage against ground water allocations and calibrate programs to balance priority requirements to ensure allocations are not exceeded.
- Assist with the implementation of the City's capital works program, including infrastructure upgrades, bore and pump maintenance, and the ongoing deployment of the central control system.
- Ensure the competent operation and maintenance of plant and equipment.
- Monitor equipment usage and performance, and provide input into the selection of new equipment.
- Proactively contribute to the team effort through developing work schedules to achieve desired service levels.
- Provide onsite guidance and support to contractors.
- Respond to operational challenges by looking for ways to improve operations and suggesting innovative solutions and ideas.
- Actively participate in team meetings by contributing ideas and information.
- Interact with customers in a positive and courteous manner.
- Responsible for own safety and the safety of the team and public when undertaking operational activities.
- Proactively identify and address risks by adopting safe working practices, undertaking preventative maintenance or reporting risks to the appropriate person.
- Active participation in development and learning pathways including attendance to industry, OSH and corporate training.
- Ensure the City's Safety Framework is understood and complied with by team and contractors including but not limited to the Induction process; Personal Protective Equipment; OSH Management Practices; Job Safety Analyses; Risk Assessments; Safety Inspections; Prestart Checks; Incident/Accident Reporting; Safe Work Methods; Take 5 and Safe Act Observations.
- Awareness of and compliance with the injury management process
Skills required:
- Ability to undertake diagnostics and repair of irrigation systems, programming and calibration of irrigation systems, and preparation and interpretation of irrigation plans and specifications.
- Ability to operate specialised equipment such as bore pumps, electrical controls, central control systems, data collecting instruments and mobile smart devices.
- Good administrative and organisational skills to be able to prioritise tasks to meet demands.
- Developed writing skills in order to respond to customer requests and undertake operational record keeping.
- Computer savvy to adapt to City specific technology systems.
- Effective interpersonal skills with the ability to convey information and express thoughts and facts succinctly.
- Demonstrates effective use of listening skills and displays openness to other people's ideas and thoughts.
