Overview
The Head of Risk and Assurance is responsible for implementing all line 2 and 3 responsibilities including embedding the operational risk and compliance framework.
Additionally, you will be responsible for defining the annual Internal Audit plan reporting to the board and ensuring risk assessments performed by line 1 are effective.
You will lead a lean and effective team of risk advisors and an internal auditor while reporting directly to the CFO.

Key elements of the Role
Develop and enhance Risk management & frameworks.
Develop compliance frameworks including AFSL & privacy obligations.
Oversee the implement the internal audit program.
Define the annual plan, approved by the board.
Educate and coach staff and the board on risk management and compliance matters.
To be successful for this role, you will have:
Vast experience across all 3 lines of defence in a Risk, Compliance & Internal Audit roles.
Experienced with Australian accounting standards and the corporation act 2001.
At least 2 years experience in a people leadership role.
Solid experience implementing risk management process & processes for a large private organisation, ideally within financial services or insurance.
Any experience implementing a compliance program would be valued.
Tertiary qualification in Business, Finance, Accounting, Commerce, Legal or related discipline.
CA, CPA or IIA qualified.
You'll be methodical in your approach and well organised.
A proactive approach and inquisitive mindset.
Demonstrated experience in stakeholder management and the ability to prioritise multiple projects and deadlines.
Proficiency in risk and compliance management tools and best practices, as well as have the ability to draft high quality papers for Senior Leaders, Executives, Boards, and Committees.
Ability to articulate and provide feedback in a constructive manner.
Highly refined written and verbal communication skills.
