The Position
Applications are currently invited for the highly sought after position of First VIII Rowing Coach. Reporting to the Director of Rowing, the First VIII Rowing Coach is responsible for leading and implementing strategies to achieve success at the Schoolboy First VIII Head of the River and at a State and National level. In addition to this the First VIII Coach will provide intensive, high quality training and competition opportunities for the boys selected for the First VIII crew.
To Thrive In This Position You Will Require
* Experience and success within a high performance rowing environment and/or a proven coaching record at a high level in rowing (e.g. State or National level).
* Level 2 NCAS Rowing Coaching Certificate.
* Ability to innovate, develop and implement a robust Rowing Program that meets the needs of the First VIII crew.
* Strong interpersonal and communication skills, including the ability to build trusting and effective relationships with students, staff and parents.
* High level interpersonal and relationship building skills to ensure the ability to effectively motivate and engage students in the crew.
* Proven organisational and time management skills to effectively manage key timelines.
As a key player in the BGS Rowing Program, the successful incumbent will have a modified teaching load (and VIT registration). Applications from suitably qualified general staff (non‐academic staff) are also welcomed.
Note: for general staff the role will be part time and an employee related working with children check will be required.
