We are seeking a skilled and motivated Mechanical Engineer to take ownership of our fixed plant maintenance operations. This key role ensures maximum equipment uptime, reduces downtime, and improves production performance across our C&D and organics processing facilities.
You will oversee maintenance of fixed assets and drive continuous improvement, focusing on increasing throughput, optimising preventative maintenance, and lowering operating costs through effective planning, analysis, and upgrades.
Key Responsibilities:
* Maintain and optimise performance of all fixed plant equipment on site
* Lead root cause analysis (RCA) of breakdowns and implement long-term solutions
* Develop and maintain critical spare parts catalogues
* Optimise and manage preventive maintenance schedules (AFPP)
* Deliver mechanical and PLC upgrades to improve plant capability and asset life
* Coordinate shutdowns, manage contractors and internal fitters
* Ensure accurate maintenance records in MEX and manage POs through ERP
* Ensure all maintenance tasks comply with safety systems and procedures (LOTO, SWMS, permits)
About You:
* Degree or Diploma in Mechanical, Civil, or Manufacturing Engineering
* Proven experience in a mechanical engineering role within heavy industry or fixed plant
* Strong exposure to waste treatment and circular economy projects
* Strong knowledge of preventative maintenance and breakdown analysis
* Ability to lead projects and improve plant performance
* Excellent communication, time management, and stakeholder engagement skills
* Committed to safety, quality, and continuous improvement
