Maas Repairs is seeking a qualified and safety-minded Heavy Vehicle Mechanic (Road Transport) to support the maintenance and reliability of our fleet. Based in Dubbo, this full-time role involves working across a wide range of equipment including trucks, floats, light vehicles, and heavy earthmoving plant. You will carry out preventative maintenance, field servicing, fault finding, and repairs to ensure our projects run smoothly and safely. Responsibilities: Promote continuous improvement in safe work practices. Adhere to workshop rules and regulations at all times. Communicate effectively with managers, supervisors, and team members daily. Diagnose and repair faults thoroughly. Service and maintain equipment within the plant and truck fleet. Work efficiently within tight schedules while maintaining high standards. Implement and follow Lean practices to ensure quality and cost efficiency in repairs and maintenance. Assist with planning and maintaining service schedules. Coordinate with suppliers to source parts based on quality and cost-effectiveness. Maintain company tools and equipment. Take ownership of major repairs, working efficiently while keeping the work environment clean and safe. Hold at least 2 years of experience as a qualified Heavy Diesel Mechanic. Possess sound knowledge of drivetrain, brakes, and suspension systems. Have basic auto electrical knowledge. Be competent with computers and digital diagnostics tools. Demonstrate an outstanding work ethic and commitment to completing tasks. Show a strong commitment to Work Health and Safety. Be approachable with excellent people management skills. Display professionalism, confidence, and adaptability, with a willingness to improve workshop processes. Be a team player, action-oriented, and results-focused, capable of quickly addressing repairs and priority breakdowns. Possess problem-solving skills and the ability to engage peers for optimal outcomes. Communicate effectively with a range of individuals. Have experience working in a high-performance team.
