You'll be responsible for accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, monthly processing of accounts for purposes of management reporting/budgeting and other financial administration duties as required.
Key Responsibilities
Processing accounts payable and receivable
Undertaking bank and other reconciliations
Managing the accounting application (Xero) and associated apps such as Hubdoc
Processing Instalment and Business Activity Statements reporting and payments
Processing superannuation deductions and payments
Preparing accounts and documentation for annual audit
Ensuring integrity of account and payroll ensuring compliance with Australian taxation and other laws, and funding bodies
Preparing detailed financial reporting for management, board and funding bodies
Assisting with budget formulation
Selection Criteria
Sound knowledge of accrual accounting principles and experience in producing accounts to trial balance.
Payroll experience and working knowledge of entitlements and deductions.
Experience in producing financial reports
High degree of administration and computer skills including Word and Excel
High level of accuracy and attention to detail
Well-organised, detail-oriented and ability to multi-task
The ability to work effectively as part of a team
Highly developed written and oral communication skills
Confidence with task management and database systems (e.g. Monday, Dropbox)
Experience in a non-profit accounting setting
Experience within arts/cultural organisations
Familiarity with sustainability practices
