Position
Whilst the Company is complex and global, generally speaking, your new financial analyst position sits within an Australian Operating Unit/Division, which is comprised of several smaller businesses. You'll operate at both levels, divisional and business unit. Key stakeholders will include BU GM's, Senior Finance Team Members, Group Finance Contacts, Divisional Leadership.
Divisional Responsibilities
* Lead Monthly Performance Reporting – what happened and why, deep dive commentary, insightful analysis and recommendations for future
* Strategic Budgeting & Forecasting – drive coordination and consolidation for annual budgets and quarterly forecasts.
* Systems Leadership – serve as divisional lead on ERP and Planning Systems, ensuring data integrity and supporting team members.
* Continuous Improvement – proactively identify and implement improvements, leverage automation, better data visualisations, and streamline divisional workflows.
* Ad Hoc Commercial Projects – Provide complex financial modelling and business case analysis to support strategic investments and executive \"what if?\" scenarios.
* Procurement & Contract Oversight – stay on top of suppliers, agreements, renewals, work with contract owners, and support analysis and tenders.
Business Unit Responsibilities (small BU)
* Finance Business Partnering – full P&L responsibility for monthly performance reporting, variance analysis, budgeting and forecasting.
* Revenue + Royalty Management – royalty revenue recognition, reconciliation for accuracy and compliance.
* Accounts Receivable Oversight – managed end to end invoicing process, monitor payment cycles, provide aged debtors reporting to senior leadership. Optimize cash flow as primary point of contact.
Your Profile
As a financial analyst, you can demonstrate a solid understanding of debits and credits and apply your accounting knowledge within a commercial setting. You can demonstrate your ability to take complex financial concepts into easy to understand language for your stakeholders. Using your financial modelling skills, you can articulate value propositions when supporting key decisions. Your highly developed interpersonal skills allow you to influence outcomes and build effective relationships across the Company. You possess expert/advanced level excel skills, and pick up new ERP/Planning systems quite easily as a tech savvy professional. You are a business person trapped in accountant's body, as you are quite commercial in your thinking and always seek to understand how the business operates, how it makes money, and how to ensure superior business performance. You work collaboratively with others, take pride and ownership in your work, and operate efficiently whilst always looking to improve on how things can be done.
