About Our Role
We are seeking a skilled Instrumentation Technician to join our team in Northern Alberta. As a key member of our operations, you will work closely with engineers and process operators to ensure the smooth functioning of our industrial processes.
The ideal candidate will have extensive knowledge of instrumentation and control systems, as well as experience working with pneumatic, electronic, and microcomputer instruments. You should be able to consult manufacturers' manuals, perform routine maintenance tasks, and diagnose faults in instrument and system operation.
* Work with a variety of instrumentation and control devices to measure and control variables such as pressure, flow, temperature, level, motion, force, and chemical composition.
* Consult manufacturers' manuals to determine test and maintenance procedures.
* Use testing devices to inspect and test instrument and system operation, diagnose faults, and perform repairs.
Key Responsibilities
1. Perform routine maintenance tasks on instrumentation and control systems.
2. Detect and diagnose faults in instrument and system operation.
3. Conduct risk assessments to identify potential hazards.
4. Work with engineers to develop and implement solutions to improve process efficiency.
5. Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities and performance data.
Education and Skills
To be successful in this role, you will need:
* A valid driver's license and good driving record.
* Completed training in first aid, H2S, CSTS/PST.
* Strong problem-solving and communication skills (both oral and written).
* Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
Experience
Prior work experience in the construction, maintenance, and/or electrical/instrumentation industry is required. A minimum of three years of experience in an oilfield industrial environment is preferred.
