The Role
The Venue Manager will be the face of our brewery's taproom and event space. This is a hands‐on leadership role, responsible for creating an inviting and inclusive environment, managing staff, and driving venue growth through creative ideas, events, and continuous improvements.
You'll balance warm hospitality with operational excellence, ensuring the venue runs smoothly while also being proactive in making it a vibrant community hub.
Key Responsibilities
* Hospitality & Atmosphere
o Act as the host of the venue, greeting guests and ensuring they feel welcome.
o Create a positive, inclusive, and community‐focused environment for customers.
o Champion excellent service standards across the team.
* Recruit, train, roster, and supervise bar and floor staff.
* Foster a motivated, professional, and collaborative team culture.
* Provide ongoing coaching and support to ensure consistent performance.
* Operations & Compliance
o Oversee daily taproom operations, stock management, and presentation of the venue.
o Ensure compliance with licensing laws, RSA, WHS, and company policies.
o Manage cash handling, POS systems, and reporting as required.
* Events & Innovation
o Generate and execute ideas for in‐house events (trivia nights, live music, brewery tours, etc.).
o Build partnerships with local community groups, artists, and businesses.
o Suggest and implement improvements to venue layout, service systems, and customer experience.
* Business Development
o Monitor venue performance and provide feedback to brewery management.
o Contribute to marketing initiatives and social media presence for the venue.
o Support the growth of the brewery's reputation as a destination for great beer and great experiences.
Skills & Experience
* Previous experience in hospitality management (bar, restaurant, or brewery preferred).
* Strong leadership and staff management abilities.
* Excellent customer service skills with a warm, approachable personality.
* Organised, proactive, and capable of managing multiple priorities.
* Creative thinker with a passion for events and community engagement.
* Knowledge of craft beer and brewing culture (or willingness to learn).
