Our organisation is seeking an experienced Capital Projects Lead to drive innovative and practical solutions across our Cane Supply operations. This opportunity combines project management, asset strategy, and hands-on collaboration in a role that supports one of the region's most iconic industries.
The Capital Projects Lead will oversee the delivery of Cane Supply projects, including planning, statutory approvals and overall quality assurance. The role manages key contracts across signalling, track maintenance, structures, and rolling stock, working collaboratively with key officers and supervisors to plan and implement capital works, operations, inspections, and maintenance programs.
Key Responsibilities
* Develop a comprehensive asset management plan for all Cane Supply assets based on inspection results and task analysis.
* Plan, develop, and program long-term asset strategies to ensure optimal performance and efficiency.
* Collaborate with senior officers to deliver work programs on time and within scope, ensuring high-quality outcomes.
* Coordinate cane railway works teams to deliver maintenance and capital projects efficiently and on schedule, meeting safety and quality standards.
* Review and analyse incident and defect data to inform annual maintenance plans and improve operational efficiency.
* Develop and implement safety management plans, inspection procedures, and test checklists as directed by the Cane Supply Manager.
Requirements
* Tertiary qualifications in Engineering, Project Management, Business, or a related discipline.
* Proven project management expertise across the planning, coordination, and successful delivery of infrastructure projects, with a strong focus on asset management and strategic planning.
* Experience in railway maintenance and track work is highly desirable, with a deep understanding of industry best practices and safety protocols.
* Proficient in Microsoft Office, with strong skills in Excel, Word, and project planning tools.
