Reliability Expert

Key Responsibilities:

* Maintenance and Spares Strategies:

Develop, review and improve maintenance and spares strategies to ensure the safe and reliable operation of production equipment.

* Maintenance Planning:

Participate in maintenance planning and use plant knowledge to predict major maintenance requirements.

* CMMS Architecture:

Assist in the management and implementation of the CMMS architecture in line with site standards and best practices.

* Mechanical Engineering Support:

Provide mechanical engineering support for refinery static and rotating equipment, including equipment/material selection, design calculations and fitness for service reviews.

* Collaboration:

Maintain a collaborative effort with all departments to ensure success in the role.

* Equipment Operation and Maintenance:

Ensure relevant equipment is operated and maintained according to applicable standards and statutory compliance is adhered to.

* Reliability and Cost Improvement:

Lead activities/projects that focus on reliability and cost improvement of poor performing assets.

* Project Implementation:

Assist with project implementation to ensure the reliability and maintainability of new and modified installations are in line with plant needs.

* Design and Installation Specifications:

Participate in the development of design and installation specifications.

* Management of Change:

Support and follow the site management of change process when required, to ensure changes are adequately risk assessed and required updates/changes are correctly implemented.

* Risk Management:

Provide input to Risk Management processes, including management of change, which helps to anticipate reliability-related and non-reliability-related risks that could adversely impact plant operation.

Requirements:

* Qualifications:

Tertiary level qualification in Mechanical Engineering or other relevant discipline coupled with a minimum of five years of post-graduate reliability and/or maintenance engineering experience.

* Skills and Experience:

Working understanding of asset management practices and experience in the development of effective maintenance strategies.

* Problem Solving:

Excellent problem solving, investigative, and data analysis skills.

* Condition Monitoring Tools:

Sound understanding of available NDT and condition monitoring tools and equipment, and how they can be utilised to support reliability improvement and plant management.
