Primary Objective
The Generalist, People and Culture provides quality support which drives the activities within the People and Culture (P&C) function, ensuring they are understood and valued in accordance with Central Desert Regional Council strategic and regional plans, agreements, policies, procedures and relevant legislation.
Key Duties And Responsibilities
1. Develop and implement strategies and practices to attract, retain and motivate a skilled workforce in accordance with Council policy and relevant legislation including industrial relations law.
2. Develop and implement innovative P&C and people management initiatives that contribute to the achievement of organisational objectives.
3. Assist in the development and implementation of organisational design, workforce planning, and job design activities to prepare for current and future people challenges.
4. Issue Employment Contracts, variations and other HR Documentation.
5. Facilitate the coordination of the recruitment strategies and operations and ensure compliance with recruitment requirements across Council.
6. In consultation with line managers create and implement strategies and initiatives to increase the attraction of candidates to Council.
7. Assist in the coordination of all aspects of the employee lifecycle including the end to end recruitment process, induction and onboarding, development, performance management and termination;
8. Develop and implement coaching and mentoring activities for managers to develop people management expertise.
9. Develop and implement innovative people practices that support a positive culture.
10. Be engaged in an effective and proactive health, safety and wellbeing culture.
11. Any other reasonable duties delegated by the Supervisor which are within level.
