What's On Offer?
A fantastic opportunity exists within the City Life Directorate for a motivated and community-focused professional to join our Community Engagement team as Community Safety Project Officer.

Reporting to the Coordinator Community Development, this role is responsible for facilitating a broad range of community development, engagement and activation projects that support community safety outcomes in Kwinana. You will work collaboratively across the organisation and with key external stakeholders, including WA Police and local service providers, to build community capacity and deliver initiatives aligned with the City's Social Strategy.

This is a hands-on role where you will contribute to policy development, coordinate projects and events, administer grants and rebates, and promote a proactive, partnership-based approach to community safety and crime prevention.

What You'll Need
To be successful in this role, you will need:

* Previous experience in a similar or related role, preferably within local government and/or community safety, policing or crime prevention
* Well-developed knowledge of contemporary practice and policy relating to community safety, crime prevention and community engagement
* Strong interpersonal, networking and relationship-building skills with the ability to engage effectively with diverse stakeholders
* Experience planning, delivering and reviewing projects, programs and events
* Well-developed analytical, creative thinking and problem-solving skills
* Relevant qualifications and/or experience in community development, community safety, policing, administrative services or a related field
* Strong computer literacy skills including report writing, record management and use of business systems
* A current driver's licence, National Police Clearance and First Aid Certificate (or ability to obtain)
* Flexibility to work after hours as required
