About the role As a Parks and Open Space Planner, you’ll play a key role in ensuring the health and wellbeing of Inner West Council’s community—now and into the future—by developing park plans of management, masterplans, and site-specific policies. You will assess development applications, provide expert advice on recreation needs, and engage extensively with community groups, stakeholders, and council teams to drive equitable and strategic improvements to our open spaces. Remuneration $96,228.08- $107,765.32 11.5% Superannuation Some of the required skills, experience and qualifications Tertiary qualifications in planning or a related discipline OR equivalent industry experience in community engagement, local government experience in working within the public domain Ability to assess community recreational needs Ability to assess and provide qualified advice on Development Applications Experience in community engagement and report writing. Demonstrated experience in reviewing, assessing and drafting reports Knowledge of the Crown Lands Act as it relates to the management of parks Knowledge of the Local Government Act as it relates to the management of community land Strong interpersonal communication, collaboration, public engagement and stakeholder management skills Computer skills, including demonstrated experience with Adobe applications, word processing and spreadsheets.
