Role Description
· Assist in the preparation and compounding of polymer formulations (e.g. thermoplastics, elastomers)
· Operate laboratory equipment such as extruders, mixers, and moulding machines under supervision
· Conduct routine material testing (e.g. melt flow index, tensile strength, density)
· Prepare samples for testing and maintain proper labelling and documentation
· Record, analyse, and report test results accurately
· Maintain cleanliness and organisation of the laboratory
· Follow Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and safety protocols
· Assist with troubleshooting basic processing or material issues
· Support senior technicians and engineers in R&D and quality control activities
· Assist with equipment setup, cleaning and maintenance

About You
· Practical and mechanically minded
· Comfortable working with equipment and laboratory processes
· Good attention to detail and record keeping
· Experience in plastics, manufacturing, laboratory work or materials science is beneficial but not essential
Qualifications
· TAFE or university practicals
· Certificate IV or Diploma in Polymer Technology, Laboratory Techniques, Chemistry, Materials Science

· Bachelor’s Degree in Chemical Engineering, Materials Science or Chemistry
