This is a hands-on, senior-level workshop role for experienced Mechanical Fitters who take pride in producing high-quality mechanical work, having a hands-on leadership approach, and contributing to process development in a structured, safety-driven environment.

You will work closely with our Production Supervisor, Mechanical Fitters and Mechanical Assemblers to deliver projects safely, efficiently, and to specification.

* Perform hands‑on stripping, assessing, rebuilding, fit‑up and testing work

* Develop, document, and implement standard operating procedures (SOPs) for mechanical assembly and rebuild activities

* Conduct and oversee quality assurance (QA) checks on all mechanical builds and assemblies

* Support troubleshooting, fault finding, and rectification during assembly and testing phases

* Support mechanical testing and commissioning activities, ensuring equipment meets performance requirements

You will also:

* Mentor and train junior fitters on mechanical rebuild processes

* Work closely with the mechanical and fabrication teams to keep workflow moving

We are looking for someone who is hands-on, independent, and solutions-focused, with the ability to work in a developing environment and help build scalable workshop processes.

Mandatory Requirements:

* Trade qualification as a Mechanical Fitter, Fitter & Turner, or Diesel Mechanic

* Current C Class Driver’s Licence

* High Risk Licences – Forklift

Desirable:

* LR/MR Licence

* Overhead Gantry Ticket

* Post-trade certifications or additional technical training

Experience

* Minimum 5 years’ workshop experience as a Mechanical Fitter or Diesel Mechanic

* Experience with 12/24V fit outs and wiring harness assembly

* Experience in mechanical fitting, rebuilds, and assembly, ideally within pumps, rotating equipment, or similar heavy industry

* Ability to read engineering drawings and BOMs

* Sound knowledge of fits, tolerances, alignment and QA requirements

You Will Be Successful If You:

* Take pride in accurate mechanical rebuilds

* Work well independently and within a team

* Understand production deadlines and workshop workflow

* Have a strong safety-first mindset

* Maintain high standards of workmanship and attention to detail

* Adaptable to change and open to learning new processes
