A Day in This Role:
As our Executive Culinary Lead, you will bring the culinary vision, expert leadership, and be hands-on in daily operations with the support of the Hunter Street Precinct Executive Chef.
You will be responsible for delivering exceptional dining experiences, mentoring a passionate team, and upholding the highest standards of food quality, safety, and presentation.
Your key responsibilities will include:
* Collaborating closely with the Hunter Street Precinct Executive Chef to align culinary standards, share resources, and drive innovation
* Leading seasonal menu changes that showcase Tasmanian produce and wood-fired grill techniques
* Managing kitchen budgets, food costing, and supplier relationships
* Recruiting, onboarding, training, and nurturing new kitchen staff
* Championing a positive, respectful, and performance-driven kitchen culture
* Ensuring compliance with food safety and ethical standards
* Collaborating with front-of-house and events teams to ensure seamless service
Your Qualifications and Experience:
To succeed in this role, you will bring:
* Proven experience as a Head Chef in fine dining environments with expertise in contemporary cooking and wood-fired grill techniques
* Strong leadership and team-building skills in premium restaurant environments
* Passion for Tasmanian produce and hospitality excellence
* A flexible approach to working across a rotating roster, including nights and weekends
* Certificate III or above in Commercial Cookery
