Primary Purpose
The primary purpose of this role is to lead and contribute to an integrated approach to governance, policy, risk, and compliance across the organisation. The position supports effective stakeholder engagement, ensures regulatory and internal policy compliance, and promotes risk-informed decision-making. It also includes responsibility for managing Right to Information (RTI) requests and contributing to broader organisational improvements.
Key Responsibilities
1. Strategic Leadership & Stakeholder Engagement
2. Lead key elements of the governance, policy, risk and compliance (GPRC) program of work.
3. Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to implement systems and processes that support timely compliance and operational effectiveness.
4. Enable officers across the organisation to meet internal obligations and policy requirements efficiently.
5. Risk & Compliance Oversight
6. Identify and manage risks that may impact the organisation's ability to meet strategic objectives.
7. Address compliance issues and support enterprise-wide risk management practices.
8. Utilise a range of information sources to support risk-based planning, reporting, and decision-making.
9. Data Analysis & Reporting
10. Provide data analysis and visualisation (e.g., using Excel and PowerPoint) to support GPRC initiatives.
11. Use data to inform strategic reporting, stakeholder communication, and risk management.
12. Policy Development & Review
13. Review policy documents to ensure clarity, consistency, and accessibility.
14. Contribute to the ongoing development of governance frameworks and internal policies.
15. Support communication and training strategies to embed policy awareness and compliance.
16. Documentation & Strategic Advice
17. Prepare governance, policy, risk, and compliance documents including:
* Briefing papers
* Analytical and research reports
* Strategic options papers
1. Provide advice and analysis on emerging issues and trends in governance, risk, compliance, and policy.
2. Experience in governance, policy, risk, and compliance in complex, regulated environments.
3. Strong written and verbal communication skills, including report and policy writing.
4. Proficient in Excel, PowerPoint, and Power BI (or willingness to develop skills).
5. Ability to develop and review policies and governance frameworks.
6. Strong stakeholder engagement and program coordination skills with the ability to influence and lead.
