Marist180 is currently seeking applications from experienced Senior Caseworkers to join our team. Job Description About the Role The purpose of this position is to deliver and develop in other Caseworkers a contemporary case management practice across a range of therapeutic services including residential programs through provision of regular supervision and support to casework staff. This role is also responsible, in consultation with Senior Therapeutic Specialists, Area Managers and other program managers, where relevant, for the identification of areas for practice development and advising the Director of Therapeutic Services of relevant areas for training. Primary accountabilities will include but are not limited to: Coordinating the holistic assessment of young people including their safety, permanency and wellbeing needs. Coordinating and monitoring support and services for young people in residential services within a therapeutic trauma informed framework. Coordinating case planning with young people and assist them to identify their goals and aspirations. Coordinating the review of case plans, and other related plans, in consultation with young people and internal and external stakeholders, on a regular basis, quarterly at minimum. Work collaboratively with significant others such as family, carers, educational staff and individual therapists to support young people. Develop pathways with young people to make transitions, leave care and case closure. Build and maintain trusting therapeutic relationships with young people and their families. Drive the process of case planning and permanency planning for young people in the case management team. Coordinate the completion of assessments and collection of outcome data as required for reporting and care planning. Work with young people and their families to identify permanent placements through Family Finding and exploring restoration. Contribute to the Strategic and Operational Planning of the organisation. Work collaboratively with relevant CFDU’s, liaising with our PC, other stakeholders and updating Child Story. Coordinate and liaising with key stakeholders at district level. Master and coordinate the use of Child Story amongst the Casework team. Supervise and guide the team of Caseworkers to ensure that they are maintaining their roles and responsibilities. Support the development and submission of complex case applications. Complete risk assessments to ensure risks related to activities and family engagement are mitigated. Undertake activities outlined in the Caseworker position description and managing a caseload may also be a requirement of this position. Desired Skills and Experience Qualifications: Relevant tertiary degree qualification (Social Work, Psychology or equivalent). Experience: At least four years post-graduation case management experience. Demonstrated experience working with young people who have experienced complex trauma. Previous experience working with families and young people who have been in contact with the child protection system. Previous experience supervising staff. Desirable: Knowledge of the requirements of the NSW Child Safe Standards for Statutory Out of Home Care. Sound knowledge of relevant legislation and of professional practice standards. Experience in mental health or drug and alcohol services. Experience in working with young people in residential care. Work Requirements: Current First Aid and CPR certificate. Current Working with Children Check. Clear National Criminal History Check. Unrestricted NSW driver’s licence. Eligibility to work in Australia.
