The Opportunity
We’re looking for an experienced tax lawyer to join our successful Tax practice in Sydney as a Practice Leader for a 12 month parental leave cover. In this role, you can expect to assist numerous small and medium sized businesses with a broad range of tax law needs. As a Practice Leader you will also be responsible for supervising a small team of talented lawyers. As such, you will demonstrate a genuine interest in training and mentoring junior lawyers and support their growth in the firm.

* Initial business structuring advice
* Restructuring/rollover relief advice
* Business exit planning advice (incl. small business CGT concessions)
* ESS/ESOP design and eligibility advice
* ATO/OSR objections and appeals
* Drafting ATO/OSR private ruling applications
* Drafting/amending trust deeds
* Advising on investment raises with our capital raising team
* Advising on exits and script for script with our M&A team
* International expansion advice (transfer pricing and Permanent establishment)
* GST and FBT.
The Ideal Candidate
* Experience: 8+ years of experience as a tax lawyer in a private practice environment assisting businesses. Additional experience in general corporate and commercial law will be highly valued.
