Job Description

As Sous Chef, you'll support the Head Chef in leading kitchen operations, mentoring the team and delivering exceptional food across a diverse range of events. This role is perfect for a creative, hands‐on leader who thrives in a fast‐paced, high‐energy environment.

Key Responsibilities

* Lead daily kitchen operations, ensuring high‐quality food delivery for large‐scale events.
* Mentor and develop junior chefs; assist with recruitment, rostering and payroll.
* Create and innovate menus for banquets and high‐profile events.
* Manage food costs, budgets, and inventory efficiently.
* Oversee the stewarding team to ensure smooth kitchen operations, cleanliness and compliance with hygiene standards.
* Maintain a safe, professional and positive kitchen culture.
* Drive consistency, creativity and excellence across all services.

Qualifications

* Minimum 2 years' senior/leadership experience with a strong banqueting background.
* Hands‐on leader who motivates teams, sets standards and leads by example.
* Strong communicator, able to delegate and maintain high standards under pressure.
* Solutions‐focused, adaptable and committed to improving food quality and service.
* Works independently with initiative, precision and attention to detail.
* Flexible to work rotating roster including weekends, evenings and public holidays.
* Must have full, unrestricted working rights in Australia.
