INTRODUCTION
As part of the
(Bushey brand)
delivery team, the Business Analyst plays a pivotal role in enabling our clients to adopt AI‑driven operational capabilities across their business departments. This role blends structured analysis, stakeholder engagement, and high‑quality documentation to produce
AI Agent Specification Documents
that adhere to
Bushey's
quality, governance, confidentiality, and professionalism standards.
Working closely with the Chief AI Officer, AI Automation Engineers, Solution Leads, and departmental SMEs, the Business Analyst ensures that each AI Agent Specification accurately captures the operational realities, business rules, controls, inputs, outputs, constraints, and value‑driving outcomes required for safe, accurate, compliant, and effective AI agent deployment.
ROLE OVERVIEW
The Business Analyst is responsible for gathering, analysing, and interpreting business operational requirements through structured interviews and workshops. They will translate this knowledge into a
templated AI Agent Specification Document
used by AI Automation Engineers to prepare, configure, and deploy AI agents aligned with customer expectations,
Bushey
methodologies, and the
Bushey Change Framework
.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
1. Requirements Gathering and Stakeholder Engagement
* Conduct structured interviews and workshops with customer business units to capture operational processes, workflow dependencies, data inputs, approval paths, KPIs, risks, and controls.
* Collaborate with cross‑functional teams (AI Automation Engineers, Solution Leads, SMEs) to validate requirements and ensure alignment with customer goals.
* Ensure all stakeholder engagement follows
Bushey
standards for professionalism, confidentiality, and equal opportunities.
2. Development of AI Agent Specifications
* Produce high‑quality
AI Agent Specification Documents
using
templates, ensuring clarity, completeness, and structured formatting.
* Document agent objectives, behavioural rules, process sequences, required integrations, datasets, exception paths, regulatory considerations, and measurable outputs.
* Verify that specifications align with
Bushey
governance frameworks, including risk awareness, operational discipline, and quality expectations.
3. Process Mapping and Operational Analysis
* Map existing processes using appropriate business grade notation (flowcharts, swim lanes, decision trees) to identify efficiency opportunities and AI‑appropriate workloads.
* Assess data quality, operational bottlenecks, handoff points, and automation candidates across business departments.
* Support customers in modernising processes to enable stronger AI‑augmented performance.
4. Collaboration with AI Automation Engineers
* Provide engineers with complete, unambiguous, and testable specifications.
* Participate in refinement cycles to clarify logic, edge cases, and exceptions, ensuring agents behave as expected.
* Support validation testing and UAT to ensure the AI agent performs accurately against real‑world scenarios.
5. Documentation, Quality and Compliance
* Maintain high documentation standards aligned with
Bushey's
quality and performance expectations.
* Ensure all client information, workflows, and proprietary data are handled in accordance with
Bushey
confidentiality and security requirements.
* Update internal knowledge bases linked to agent development, contributing to
Bushey's
continuous improvement culture.
6. Continuous Improvement and Innovation
* Recommend enhancements to AI agent templates, frameworks, and delivery assets.
* Collaborate with
leadership to ensure consistent delivery approaches across engagements.
* Monitor emerging AI, automation, and workflow practices to help refine
Bushey
and
methodologies.
SKILLS & EXPERIENCE
Essential
* Demonstrated experience as a Business Analyst within consulting, digital transformation, technology, or process‑driven environments.
* Strong ability to distil structured insights from unstructured stakeholder information.
* Excellent documentation and communication skills, able to present complex concepts clearly and professionally.
* Proven experience in process mapping, operational analysis, and requirements documentation.
* Ability to work effectively within cross‑functional teams and fast‑moving delivery environments.
Desirable
* Prior exposure to AI, automation, RPA, machine learning, or low‑code/no‑code tools.
* Experience preparing functional specifications, business rules catalogues, or similar technical documentation.
* Understanding of data ethics, controls, and regulatory considerations relevant to automation or AI deployments.
