Key Responsibilities
- Assist the Head Chef in all aspects of kitchen operations
- Supervise kitchen staff and ensure high standards of food preparation and presentation
- Oversee food safety, cleanliness, and hygiene practices in compliance with regulations
- Contribute to menu planning, recipe development, and cost control
- Ensure efficient stock management and coordinate with suppliers
- Lead by example during service, maintaining composure and leadership under pressure
- Step in for the Head Chef as needed
- Train and lead team
- Collaborate with managers, kitchen staff, and waiting staff to address dietary and preparation concerns
Requirements
- Minimum 2 years’ experience in a Sous Chef or similar leadership role
- Strong leadership and communication skills
- Monitor and help manage kitchen wages, labour costs, and scheduling to ensure efficiency and alignment with budget targets
- Deep knowledge of food safety standards and kitchen operations
- Ability to manage a team and maintain a positive kitchen workplace
- Available to work weekends and flexible shifts
- Diploma in hospitality management
