The Team

The Tasmanian Clinical Genetics Service Administrative team plays a vital role in supporting the delivery of specialist genetic services across Tasmania. Working collaboratively with clinicians, scientists, and allied health professionals, the Administrative Officer (532101) provides essential support through patient coordination, appointment scheduling, record management, and effective communication with patients and internal stakeholders. The team is committed to professionalism, confidentiality, and accuracy, ensuring smooth service delivery while contributing to a respectful, inclusive, and patient‐focused healthcare environment.

The Role

The Tasmanian Clinical Genetics Service (TCGS) is a statewide service providing assessment, diagnosis, genetic testing, management advice, counselling and support for individuals and families who have, or are at risk of having, a genetic condition.

Responsibilities
* Complete a broad variety of administrative and research support services to ensure the smooth running of the TCGS office and clinic coordination within required timeframes.
* Critically examine, evaluate, and take appropriate action on information submitted to ensure relevance, completeness, and accuracy.
* Maintain and ensure the integrity of databases, information systems, and spreadsheets as required for administrative and clinical tasks, reports, and quality improvement activities.
Appointment Details

Fixed‐term full‐time day worker, working 76 hours per fortnight, commencing as soon as possible for a period of three years. Hours to be negotiated with the successful applicant.

Applicants should note that, for a period of twelve months from the date of publication, this selection process may be used to fill subsequent or similar full‐time, part‐time, and casual vacancies.

Salary

$73,811 to $79,779 per annum. 12 % superannuation contribution on top of salary.

Salary Packaging

You'll have access to salary packaging and a range of benefits including living expenses up to $9,010 and $2,650 in meal entertainment each FBT year, plus other benefits if eligible.
