The Role
This key position leads Engineering Services team to deliver high-quality outcomes across subdivision and land development, capital works projects, infrastructure maintenance, extractive industry licensing, and technical liaison. Provides expert advice and ensures projects are completed on time, within budget, and to the highest standard.
Key Responsibilities:
* Provide strategic leadership to the Engineering Services team, fostering a positive workplace culture and guiding staff development.
* Oversee the planning, delivery, and quality control of infrastructure projects, including roads, drainage, public open space, and reserves.
* Manage asset planning, grant funding, compliance, and extractive industry licensing.
* Develop and review engineering policies, standards, strategies, and technical reports.
* Lead procurement processes and manage consultants, contractors, and regulatory approvals.
* Build strong relationships with stakeholders, including government agencies, consultants, community groups, and residents.
* Contribute to organisational decision-making and continuous improvement within the Engineering Services portfolio.

The Candidate
* Degree in Civil Engineering (or equivalent) and proven leadership experience.
* Strong background in civil design, construction, infrastructure compliance, and project management.
* Skilled in asset management, infrastructure planning, and subdivision development.
* Proficient in contract management, stakeholder engagement, and conflict resolution.
* Advanced knowledge of roads, drainage, public works, and traffic management.
* Competent in MS Office, AutoCAD, CivilCAD, and related engineering software.
* Excellent organisational, analytical, and report-writing skills.
* Current "C" Class driver's licence.
