We’re a small, passionate team that values fun, innovation, and high-quality work.Role OverviewWe’re looking for a UI/UX Designer to help craft the look and feel of the player experience in Nanites. You’ll design clear, stylish, and immersive interfaces for gameplay, inventory, menus, and HUDs—all while ensuring they’re intuitive and satisfying to use.This is a contractor role with fully flexible hours and remote work—you can work from anywhere, anytime, as long as the work is strong and progress is consistent.What you'll be doingDesign and prototype game UI screens (HUD, menus, inventory, skill trees, etc.)Define and document UI/UX standards for consistencyCollaborate with game designers, programmers, and artists to implement UI in Unreal Engine 5Create user flows, wireframes, and interactive prototypesUse player feedback and playtesting to iterate and improve designsEnsure UI supports gameplay clarity, accessibility, and thematic cohesionBalance clean usability with immersive, gritty aestheticsWhat we’re looking forStrong visual design skills with a portfolio showing UI/UX work (games preferred)Experience designing interfaces for PC and/or console gamesFamiliarity with Figma, Adobe XD, or similar toolsGood understanding of user-centered design principlesExperience working with Unreal Engine 5 (or willingness to learn UI implementation in it)Self-motivated, good communicator, and team-orientedWilling to sign a contractor agreementBonus if you haveExperience designing for survival or base-building gamesAnimation/motion graphics skills for dynamic UI elementsKnowledge of accessibility standards in gamesInterest in post-apocalyptic, sci-fi, or horror genresA love for gritty, functional, and immersive design languageIndustry TransparencyWe understand concerns about unpaid work in the game industry and are committed to fairness and transparency:All contributors are independent contractors.We currently do not generate revenue, but contributors will be compensated based on the net revenue-sharing model once revenue is generated.Interview ProcessWe don’t do stiff interviews we jump in-game and talk while playing.
