Bejo Australia is a leading vegetable seed producer and part of an international family-owned company headquartered in the Netherlands. At our Tasmanian farms, we grow high-quality hybrid carrot, beet, and brassica seeds in collaboration with growers and the community.
We're seeking an experienced and hands‑on Farm Lead (2IC) to support our Seed Production Coordinator. This role is perfect for someone who thrives in the field and enjoys leading a team to deliver operational excellence.
What You'll Do
* Lead day‑to‑day farm operations including planting, crop production and crop protection.
* Provide leadership and guidance to operational staff, ensuring tasks are completed safely, efficiently, and to a high standard.
* Operate and maintain tractors, forklifts, MR trucks, GPS‑guided machinery, and irrigation systems.
* Support the planning and organisation of crop production operations and liaise effectively with external suppliers.
* Perform chemical spraying, fertigation, and general maintenance tasks.
* Supervise and guide casual staff during field activities.
* Promote a strong safety culture and ensure compliance with health and safety procedures.
What We're Looking For
* Previous farm experience with tractor operations and cropping systems.
* ChemCert certification (or willingness to obtain).
* Valid driver's licence (MR truck and forklift licences desirable).
* Ability to lead a team, prioritise tasks, and work flexibly through seasonal demands.
* Strong decision‑making and time‑management skills.
