Job Title: Power Engineering Manager
Overview
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Power Engineering Manager to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing the day-to-day electrical engineering activities on small to medium-sized projects or portions of major projects within a global business unit.
Key Responsibilities
* Supervise, coordinate, and review the work of personnel assigned, estimate staffing needs and schedules, and assign work accordingly.
* Provide technical input to meet procurement requirements.
* Prepare or oversee the preparation of electrical discipline estimates and work plans in accordance with project scope, schedule, and budget.
* Review and make recommendations on the electrical engineering aspects of bid evaluations and awards for approval by project engineering.
* Coordinate with client representatives to obtain their approval of electrical engineering aspects of the work.
* Review and approve key calculations, licensing evaluations, design documents, supplier drawings, and data, material specifications, drawings, and change orders for the project assigned.
* Ensure that assigned electrical engineering personnel receive appropriate on-the-job training for their professional development.
* Assist in the preparation and review of project procedures and cost estimates for proposals, forecasts, and change orders.
Requirements
* Requires a bachelor's degree (or international equivalent) and 10-13 years of relevant experience.
* Relevant work experience in a brownfield environment, particularly in mining or large industrial plants.
* Experience with low-voltage and high-voltage electrical systems.
* Knowledge of engineering systems, calculations, equipment, applications of methods, materials, and computer applications within the electrical engineering discipline.
* Ability to travel to site regularly to undertake site investigations.
* Strong understanding of Australian Standards relevant to Electrical Engineering.
* Experience in scoping work and package management.
* Excellent communication skills with the ability to liaise and collaborate with internal and external stakeholders.
* Desirable knowledge of instrumentation and control systems.
