We are seeking an experienced Practice Manager with a strong background in optical dispensing to lead our Newcastle Area Group.
This is a hands-on leadership role responsible for delivering an exceptional patient experience while overseeing daily operations, team performance, sales, stock, and marketing initiatives. You will play a key role in driving KPIs, mentoring staff, and strengthening relationships within the local community.

Key Responsibilities
* Ensure a consistently high level of patient care that builds loyalty and long-term relationships
* Support patients with eyewear selection, including lenses, frames, and sunglasses tailored to lifestyle needs
* Oversee patient flow to ensure timely, professional service
* Minimise remakes while maintaining patient satisfaction and profitability
Leadership & Team Management
* Lead, motivate, and manage Optometrists, Optical Dispensers, and Administrative staff
* Conduct weekly team meetings and regular one-on-one reviews
* Provide coaching, training, and performance management, including discipline where required
* Maintain professional standards relating to presentation, punctuality, conduct, and patient interactions
* Train staff in Optomate Touch, Sunix, optical equipment, and industry best practice
* Develop and implement training modules for new and existing team members
Operations & KPI Management
* Oversee day-to-day practice operations to ensure efficiency and consistency
* Drive individual and team sales performance to achieve daily, weekly, and group KPIs
* Implement group promotions and campaigns in line with business objectives
* Prepare weekly operational and performance reports for Senior Management
* Contribute ideas and initiatives to improve profitability and performance
Stock & Supplier Management
* Manage stock levels in line with budget guidelines
* Liaise with frame and lens suppliers to negotiate pricing and terms
* Maintain accurate stock control via practice software
* Conduct and report on regular stocktakes
Marketing & Community Engagement
* Plan and manage an annual promotional calendar
* Coordinate in-practice displays and point-of-sale materials
* Train staff on current promotions and campaigns
* Build and maintain strong relationships with local businesses (including safety eyewear) and GPs
Practice Security & Maintenance
* Manage opening and closing procedures, keyholder responsibilities, and staff rostering
* Ensure the practice is well presented at all times
* Coordinate timely maintenance of equipment, lighting, IT systems, and cleaning
Complaints Management
* Handle patient complaints professionally, promptly, and effectively
About You Essential:
* Proven experience in optical dispensing
* Previous experience managing staff in an optical practice
* Strong knowledge of frames, lenses, contact lenses, hand edging, and frame repairs
