**About the role
The purpose of the PCC-MHLS is to provide a mechanism via which police responding to mental health incidents can access meaningful and timely mental health information, advice and assistance and to facilitate appropriate mental health responses.
About you
Our ideal candidate will be someone who can carry out the following key accountabilities in accordance with the Metro North Health's values:
Apply advanced-level expertise and understanding of complex, contemporary, clinical practice standards as relevant to the coordination of information, provision of mental health advice, and intervention in both crisis and complex evolving situations.
Exercise independent judgement, problem solving skills, and an advanced-level of understanding of current operational, organisational, and cultural issues in implementing evolving models of service.
Utilise advanced-level clinical skills to provide a direct response within the QPS Brisbane Communications Centre which receives '000' calls. This may include mental health triage of calls; gathering relevant information (via CIMHA, other health databases and liaison with mental health services); provision of advice regarding the application of the Mental Health Act 2016 and facilitating access to services and follow up as required.
