About the Role
An opportunity for a Health, Safety, and Environment (HSE) Advisor within the civil construction industry has become available. Known for successfully delivering projects across land development & transportation projects and their quality outcomes and strong relationships with clients, this position will ensure workers comply with work health and safety regulations as well as environmental regulations, providing continuous improvement to the safety culture on site. The successful candidate will work closely with construction project team members to develop, implement, and monitor health and safety protocols and procedures.
Key Responsibilities
* Develop strong relationships within all levels of the project to effectively influence staff members to incorporate safety procedures and quality standards to reduce harm.
* Assist in the creation and development of safety reports and quality documentation.
* When required, undergo accident investigations for incidents and injuries, and determine corrective measures to prevent the incident in the future.
* Facilitate health and safety awareness sessions and training programs.
* Train and mentor junior team members in the HSE space.
What You'll Bring
* 4+ years of prior experience in an on-site Work Health and Safety (WHS) role, displaying a strong understanding of relevant WHS regulations in construction-based projects.
* Strong communication and leadership skills, providing the necessary ability to influence and engage workers within facilitation and safety training sessions.
* Good problem‐solving skills with an adaptive mindset, necessary to address incidental investigations and implement preventative measures.
