About The Role
A rare opportunity has become available for a Payroll Assistant to join our People & Culture team on a part-time basis to support our experienced and knowledgeable Payroll Specialist. This role is responsible for the accurate and timely processing of fortnightly payroll for a large workforce (600 employees) across multiple sites and will suit a person who communicates clearly and concisely, can cut through complexity, and is a confident problem-solver. In terms of working days and hours, this will be negotiable for the right candidate.
As The Payroll Assistant, Your Responsibilities Will Include
* Process end-to-end payroll on a fortnightly basis.
* Maintain payroll records and ensure compliance with relevant legislation, awards, and enterprise agreements.
* Interpretation of multiple awards along with common law contracts.
* Manage payroll queries from staff in a timely and professional manner.
* Collaborate with HR and Finance departments to ensure data accuracy and consistency.
* Calculate and process terminations, leave entitlements, superannuation, and other payroll-related transactions
* Prepare payroll reports and reconciliations for management and audit purposes.
* Assist with the payroll system transition from MYOB/Units to Ready Tech.
About You
To excel in this role, we are seeking the following skills and experience:
* Minimum five years' payroll experience
* Demonstrated knowledge of Australian payroll legislation, including Fair Work, superannuation, Workcover, and tax.
* Strong communication skills with concise and accurate delivery.
* Proficiency in payroll software systems, ideally Ready Tech, MYOB or similar.
* Experience with software implementation is desirable.
