About the role In this role, you will be working in the Urban Design & Place team to provide strategic, creative and spatial design advice on a diverse range of projects. You will be supporting a range of projects including the delivery of Precinct Structure Plans, Urban Design Frameworks and Structure Plans. Work type: Permanent full time Classification: Band 6 Commencing at $95,760 pa plus super Key responsibilities include: Provide urban design expertise for strategic planning and design projects, precinct structure plans, masterplans, urban design frameworks and development applications, ensuring high quality design outcomes are achieved across all scales. Research, develop and prepare strategies, guidelines, policies and initiatives to support the delivery of a high-quality urban outcomes in growth areas and infill locations. Contribute to project teams which include colleagues from the department and a range of disciplines from across the organisation and from external organisations and agencies. Work collaboratively with internal and external stakeholders to achieve the project objectives. About you To be successful in this role, you will have a Tertiary qualification in urban design, architecture or landscape architecture. Essential Experience: Minimum two years professional experience as an urban designer, with a specific focus on greenfield development and subdivision. A solid understanding of urban design principles, including the ability to constructively critique development proposals and the ability to input into the development of planning design policy. Demonstrated knowledge of the Victorian planning system. Preferred candidates will be required to undergo a National Police Check as part of the recruitment process (funded by the City).
