We are seeking experienced general practitioners for an urgent care clinic in Cairns South. We are interested in speaking with GPs who are available on a part-time or casual basis.
Key Requirements
* The ideal candidate will have a strong background in general practice and experience in urgent care or emergency medicine.
* They must hold a current registration with AHPRA as a Specialist General Practitioner and have FRACGP or FACRRM qualifications.
About the Clinic
The clinic is designed to provide short-term, episodic care for urgent conditions that are not immediately life-threatening.
* Dedicated nursing and administration support.
* Dedicated treatment beds.
* A private GP consult room.
* Designed for ambulance and low-mobility access.
* Security and duress alarm systems.
* A designated resuscitation area with defibrillator, airway management equipment, ECG machine, mobile bed, IV fluid resuscitation equipment, and emergency medications.
* A dedicated area for treating fractures and plastering.
* On-site parking.
* Shared facilities include meeting rooms and tea rooms.
Our Services
* Minor illnesses, such as respiratory illness, gastrointestinal illness, urinary tract infections, and sexually transmitted infections.
* Minor injuries, including closed fractures, simple lacerations, simple eye injuries, and minor burns.
* Wound management, including gluing, suturing, and dressings.
* Incision and drainage of abscesses.
* Basic fracture management, including application of backslabs and plasters.
* Intravenous cannula insertion to allow for IV antibiotics and IV rehydration fluids.
* Urinary catheter management and changes for males and females.
* Removal of foreign bodies from the ear and nose.
* On-site imaging and ultrasound.
* On-site pathology.
Specialist AHPRA registration and no conditions are required. Overseas doctors without current AHPRA registration are ineligible.
