About The Role
We're seeking a Project Engineer/Contract Administrator who will support both the tender and delivery phases of projects within our expanding ACT operation by contributing to the technical management of all elements within the project management framework. The role requires a strong understanding of established processes, completing assigned tasks while helping to define and develop scopes based on how each activity connects to the broader project lifecycle. The successful candidate will manage the delivery of defined portions of large, complex projects or take full ownership of smaller, low‐risk projects. This includes ensuring technical quality, coordinating stakeholders, and maintaining alignment with project objectives, timeframes, and compliance requirements.
Your Responsibilities Will Include
* Supporting the management of health, safety, and environmental requirements by contributing to safe work practices, documentation, inductions, and issue escalation.
* Contributing to scope definition and control by identifying gaps, reviewing technical information, and helping resolve discrepancies across project documents.
* Managing subcontractor activities by compiling packages, reviewing claims, and supporting procurement and contract administration processes.
* Assisting with schedule development, progress assessment, and recovery planning to maintain alignment with project timelines.
* Maintaining quality records and contributing to the creation and implementation of quality plans, check sheets, and inspection requirements.
* Identifying project risks and opportunities, implementing control measures, and escalating realised risks as needed.
* Supporting procurement activities by compiling assessments, engaging with vendors, and contributing to negotiation and approval processes.
* Developing cost and progress tracking records, preparing estimates to complete, and contributing to regular financial updates.
* Participating in project integration and communication activities by preparing reports, maintaining records, engaging stakeholders, and supporting project governance processes.

* Applying analytical and problem‐solving skills to resolve technical, contractual, or operational issues across civil, construction, or engineering projects.
* Managing elements of contracts, scope, cost, and schedule on multiple projects, including the ability to assess time and cost impacts and monitor progress effectively.
* Working within HSEQ frameworks by contributing to risk assessments, supporting safe work practices, and understanding legislative and procedural requirements.
* Collaborating with internal teams, clients, and vendors to maintain strong working relationships and support successful project outcomes.
* Using MS Office and project management tools to prepare reports, track performance, analyse data, and support continuous improvement activities.
