We're partnering with a not-for-profit leading the way in the education sector.
Now seeking a
temporary
Finance Officer on preferably a
0.8 FTE
for period of around 3 months initially, with the potential for extension and/or permanency for the right candidate.
This person must be available for a start on Monday 22nd December and be able to work until mid-March. Christmas shutdown will be from Christmas Day until Monday 5th January. This role is ideally office-based in Abbotsford, however we may be able to accommodate hybrid working arrangements for the perfect candidate.
The Role
Key responsibilities may include (but not limited to) the following:
Accounts Payable - Invoice volume of around 150 to 250 per month
Accounts Receivable - Not Collections-heavy
Payroll - For around 80 full-time members of staff using a heavily automated Payroll system
BAS lodgment
Taking responsibility for month-end closing processes and management reporting
Gathering and preparing documentation for annual audit taking place in February
Assisting with the implementation of a new system, Microsoft Dynamics Business Central
The Person
The ideal candidate will join bringing to the table the following skills and expertise:
5+ years' experience as a Finance Officer, Assistant Accountant, Bookkeeper or Accountant (formal qualification not essential)
Business Central experience would be highly desirable but expertise across multiple systems and aptitude for picking up new systems quickly with attention to detail is essential in the absence of BC knowledge.
Strong understanding of accounting principles and month-end processes.
Previous experience with BAS lodgments.
Hourly rate: $***** + super
While 0.8 FTE is preferred (either 4 day work week or 5 shorter days), we can potentially accommodate those seeking a full-time position, but this will only be offered for the temporary contract (i.e. we cannot currently guarantee full-time work past the current contract end date of mid-March).
