The Role of a Learning Support Teacher.
Job Description:
This role exists to provide learning support for students with individualised needs, and to teach various Learning Support classes. The successful applicant will work closely with teachers to identify and respond to the additional learning needs of students, and to assist students with additional learning and support needs through targeted interventions, in-class, small group and individual support.
Key Responsibilities:
* To plan and implement effective teaching and learning strategies across various key learning areas (KLAs).
* To use a range of assessment strategies and analyse data to inform student learning.
* To create and maintain an orderly, safe and supportive learning environment based on the principles of Positive Behaviour for Learning (PB4L).
Required Skills and Qualifications:
Applicants should have:
* A deep understanding and commitment to the mission and purpose of Catholic education.
* The ability to demonstrate strong interpersonal skills, with excellent oral and written communication skills.
* The ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
* The appropriate qualifications for teaching/Learning Support, including Level B Accreditation in accordance with To Work, Teach and Lead policy or a commitment to gain level within the first 5 years of employment.
* Registration to teach with NESA.
