The purpose of this role is to provide a high quality, accountable, consumer focused Social Work service to consumers within Forensic and Secure Services. There is an expectation the role will work within the variety of program areas in Forensic and Secure Services.
**The key responsibilities include**:
- Proactively identify and respond to referrals for social work assessment and intervention and work in a manner consistent with recovery principles, practice standards and relevant ethical frameworks.
- Work collaboratively with family members and carers and liaise with representatives of multiple agencies involved in the provision of support to consumers.
- Provide recovery oriented social work services in a Forensic and Secure Service setting to individuals and in the context of group programs conducted with consumers.
About you
- Ability to provide consumer focussed discipline specific as well as interdisciplinary clinical services including assessment, planning, intervention and evaluation.
- Ability to maintain respect for others, remaining flexible, fair and willing to compromise when dealing with team members.
- Ability to articulate a social work perspective and the priorities for assessment and intervention in the context of the multidisciplinary team.
**Mandatory Requirements**:
- Vaccinated against, and remain vaccinated against, certain vaccine preventable diseases (VPD) as outlined in the Health Employment Directive NO. 01/16
