Job Overview
The role of a Lead Engineer involves collaboration with stakeholders, conducting engineering assessments and reviewing Engineering Change Proposals (ECPs).
Advanced technical theories and methodologies are applied to provide innovative solutions while considering cost and schedule constraints.
Key Responsibilities:
* Conduct systems analysis to derive function, performance and interface requirements to meet electrical safety parameters.
* Engage with System Design activities to ensure mechanical design artefacts are compatible with the product.
* Perform technical risk analysis as required to support development and review of hazard logs, safety case arguments and risk mitigation actions.
* Develop and implement mechanical components according to appropriate standards and procedures.
* Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to secure a trusted partner in delivering systems integration and mission support solutions.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
* Tertiary qualification in mechanical, mechatronics or structural engineering; professional recognition as CPEng with Engineers Australia in a relevant stream.
* Experience in an engineering discipline including Requirements Definition, Management, Analysis, Design and Verification and Validation.
* Representing engineering professional services to internal and external customers.
* Minimum 5 years of prior relevant experience (with a University Degree).
* Proficiency with 3D CAD parametric modelling software.
* Mechanical component/sub-system selection and procurement expertise.
* Practical knowledge of projects, programs, or systems relevant to the business.
* Mechanical design and design changes experience.
* Product configuration control.
* Military Standard electrical component/subsystem selection and procurement.
* Familiarity with AS1100 drawing standard.
