We currently have an exciting opportunity for an experienced Full Time - Retail Shop Manager to join our team at Gunghalin.
As the Retail Shop Manager, your role is to maintain the highest standards in regards to product quality and presentation. The successful applicant will be given the opportunity to treat the department as if it were their own. They will be given the flexibility to tailor the stores service and products offering to meet the specific needs of the consumers within the local community of the store.
Organises and controls the day-to-day operations of the dry cleaning and garment care establishment, including overseeing staff, managing customer service standards, handling complex customer inquiries, controlling inventory of chemicals and machinery, and implementing marketing strategies to increase revenue.
* Developing and implementing operational procedures for garment care, cleaning, and customer service standards to ensure efficient business operation.
* Recruiting, training, supervising, and rostering staff (including front-counter staff and machine operators), and conducting performance reviews.
* Determining required stock levels for cleaning agents, dry-cleaning solvents, packaging materials, and machinery parts, and managing supplier relationships.
* Controlling and managing daily sales, banking, and budgeting for the establishment to ensure profitability.
* Formulating marketing policies, promoting cleaning services, and resolving high-level customer complaints regarding garment quality
* Ensuring strict compliance with workplace health and safety (WHS) regulations, specifically regarding the handling, storage, and disposal of hazardous chemicals and machinery safety (e.g., dry cleaning machines).
* Assist in developing and implementing the business plan for the department.
* Order stock to maintain the range and maximise sales potential;
* Drive the achievement of budgeted sales and shrinkage targets;
* Maintain the dry cleaning orders and set up of the shop;
* Perform regular stocktakes of clothes, issue invoices to businesses and manage complains with clients and contractors;
* Ensure compliance with dry cleaning safety regulations where applicable;
* Respond to customer queries in a timely manner and maximise the customer experience;
* Manage performance of team members through coaching, feedback and formal counselling where appropriate;
* Ensure compliance with Work Health and Safety (including manual handling & cash handling).
The successful applicant will have;
* Proven experience in a similar role;
* Sound knowledge and experience in Dry Cleaning, including familiarity with packing and presentation principles.;
* Customer service orientation;
* Strong communication and interpersonal skills;
* Supervisory experience in a fast-paced environment is preferred;
* Commercial experience: understanding of managing costs and profits, wages/sales budgets, and effective rostering;
* Appropriate food safety qualifications;
* Ability to positively interact with a range of stakeholders;
* Operate effectively in a team environment and have a willingness to learn and a can-do attitude;
* Ability to analyse, forecast and provide data reporting and insight to influence future sales strategies;
* You must be able to demonstrate a successful track record in forecasting, planning and sales as well as have a dynamic and pro-active work style;
