Overview

Join the Centre for Population Health at the Ministry of Health for an exciting temporary opportunity and help shape the future of health in Current South Wales.

The Centre for Population Health (CPH) aims to promote health and prevent morbidity and mortality caused by modifiable risk factors. The CPH portfolio encompasses blood borne viruses, sexual health, tobacco and obesity. The strategies used to address these issues include state-wide policy and planning, legislation and regulation, program development, resource allocation, performance monitoring, research and evaluation.

You will be joining the largest public health system in Australia and contribute to a world-class health system in NSW. The team works closely with Local Health Districts (LHDs) to manage and support the local delivery of agreed policies, programs and services across the state.

What You’ll Be Doing

The Policy Officer role includes:

- Supporting the development and implementation of projects and policies related to and for hepatitis C and B programs across NSW.
- Project management activities including project planning, stakeholder consultation, data analysis and outcome reporting.
- Collaboration with NSW Local Health Districts, Health Service managers, clinicians and external stakeholders to facilitate the contribution of key internal and external partners in the development and delivery of targeted hepatitis programs.
- Providing advice and support to the Hepatitis Programs and Policy Unit, Centre for Population Health, Ministry of Health to interpret and apply policies, procedures and reporting requirements, including assisting in the preparation of high-quality advice for the Executive.

About You

We are seeking motivated and committed individuals with:

- The ability to build and maintain relationships with key stakeholders
- Great communication and interpersonal skills
- The ability to work in a small dynamic team environment
- Experience in policy and program development, implementation and evaluation
- Knowledge of priority and strategic issues in BBV and STI prevention, testing and treatment.
