Role Overview
The Department of Education in Western Australia seeks a dedicated professional to fill the position of School Psychologist at Applecross Senior High School.
Main Responsibilities
* Establish and maintain positive relationships with stakeholders including students, parents, and staff members.
* Provide direct student support and contribute to wellbeing programs in collaboration with staff to promote a positive school culture.
* Collaborate with students to support their academic and personal growth, managing pressure and maintaining wellbeing.
* Be an active member of the case management team, contributing to planning and intervention strategies that support student wellbeing and engagement.
Essential Qualifications
* Hold or be eligible for provisional or general registration with the Psychology Board of Australia.
* Be an Australian or New Zealand citizen, permanent resident, or have a valid visa with work rights.
* Obtain a valid Working With Children Check before commencing employment.
Key Selection Criteria
* Demonstrated ability to implement school psychology services and programs to maximise student learning outcomes.
* Demonstrated knowledge of psychological approaches appropriate for individual, group, and system-level intervention.
* Demonstrated high level written and oral communication skills, including report writing and interview training.
* Demonstrated highly developed interpersonal skills, working effectively as part of a team.
