About the role
Hellman Orthopaedics' is seeking a part-time Medical Secretary to join our team in Broadmeadow, NSW. In this role, you will provide vital administrative support to our Orthopaedic Specialist & visiting IMEs, ensuring the smooth running of our medical practice. Currently we are looking at a 5-6 day fortnight.
What you'll be doing
Included but not limited to:
* Scheduling and managing patient appointments
* Organising medical correspondence and scanning patient records
* Handling incoming phone calls and emails
* Assisting with the preparation of medical reports and documents
* Maintaining inventory and ordering supplies
* Providing a high level of customer service to our patients
What we're looking for
* Previous experience (min. 3 years) as a medical secretary in a healthcare setting
* Orthopaedic knowledge would be advantageous
* Strong organisational and time management skills
* Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities
* Dictaphone typing
* Proficient in using Genie medical software and electronic health record systems
* Knowledge of medical terminology and procedures
* Knowledge of worker's compensation, ADF personnel, Veteran Affairs, Insurance Companies, Medicare online, Public & Private Hospitals
* A compassionate and discreet approach when handling sensitive patient information and must have great attention to detail
* Must have a current driver's licence & vehicle due to offsite clinics
