The Team and Role
Outpatient rehabilitation is a multidisciplinary allied health outpatient service for clients returning home to the community following an inpatient admission.
The service is based at the Launceston General Hospital and provides goal-directed, time-limited therapy for clients with physical, emotional and/or cognitive difficulties arising from their recent medical event.
The team aims to deliver excellent care and improve functional outcomes for clients.
As an Allied Health Assistant in this team, you will support multiple Allied Health professions (Physiotherapy, Occupational Therapy, Speech Pathology, Dietetics, Psychology and Social Work) to help clients reach their goals by delivering and supporting therapy programs.
You will also assist with coordinating and scheduling appointments for the service and support both individual and group programs.
Responsibilities
Assist multiple Allied Health professions to support clients and deliver therapy programs (individual and group).
Coordinate and schedule appointments for the Outpatient Rehabilitation service.
Support the execution of therapy programs in collaboration with the Allied Health team.
You will need
Strong communication skills to foster rapport with clients and team members.
Adequate computing skills and willingness to learn computer systems for appointment scheduling and documentation.
Ability to work with multiple Allied Health disciplines to provide individual and group therapy programs.
Eligibility and Qualifications
Certificate IV in Health Service Assistance (Allied Health Assistance) or equivalent qualification (desirable).
Tertiary student of a relevant and approved allied health course of study at a recognised tertiary institution (desirable).
Salary and Benefits
Salary: $67,193 to $72,176 per annum.
Employer 12% superannuation contribution is on top of this amount.

Salary range is in accordance with Public Sector Unions Wages Agreement ****.
