Part‐time Community Night Patrol Officer
The Community Night Patrol Officer plays a key role in providing a safe, respectful, and culturally appropriate service, supporting community wellbeing, safety, and positive engagement. You will patrolling the community, building trust with local residents, and working closely with schools, health clinics, sobering‐up shelters, safe houses, women's refuges and other services.
How you'll make a difference
* Demonstrate excellent communication and negotiation skills.
* Ensure children are at home or in another safe location with a parent or carer at night.
* Remind parents that they have a responsibility to provide a safe, quiet place for children to sleep.
* Maintain client confidentiality.
Day‐to‐day duties will include, but are not limited to:
* Assist the team leader in the recording and reporting of incidents and assistance provided.
* Provide consistent and regular community night patrols in the community.
* Work in partnership with schools, health clinics, sobering‐up shelters, safe houses, women's refuges and other services.
* Provide advice, information and/or assistance that may reduce vulnerability to individuals.
* Perform other duties as directed by the Night Patrol Team Leader.
Ideal Candidate profile
* Strong communication skills.
* Accurate record‐keeping and written communication ability.
* Ability to work in the afternoon and night.
Other Requirements
* Criminal History Check (recent within 3 months).
* Current Working with Children's Card.
* Current unrestricted Driver's Licence.
* Current First Aid Certificate (Essential or willing to obtain).
