Are you passionate about using data to make a real difference in people's lives? Baptcare is seeking a Senior Data Engineer to join our growing Data & Analytics team in Melbourne. You'll play a key role in building robust data solutions that support our mission to provide exceptional care and services to the community.
About the Opportunity
In this full-time max term contract position, you'll design, develop, and maintain scalable data infrastructure that enables evidence-based decision making across our organisation. Working collaboratively with analysts, developers, and stakeholders, you'll help transform how we use data to enhance the lives of those we serve.
Key Responsibilities
- Design and implement end-to-end data pipelines and ETL processes
- Build and optimise data warehouses and data lakes
- Ensure data quality, governance, and security standards
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand data requirements
- Mentor junior team members and share technical knowledge
- Monitor system performance and troubleshoot data issues
What We're Looking For
- Strong experience with SQL, Python, and cloud platforms (preferably Azure)
- Expertise in data warehousing concepts and contemporary data architecture
- Experience with tools like Apache Spark, Databricks, or similar technologies
- Understanding of data governance and quality frameworks
- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail
- Strong communication skills and collaborative mindset
