About the Role

An exciting opportunity is available for a proactive and driven Purchasing Coordinator to join our established team and contribute to a hands-on, solutions-focused, and commercially minded culture.

This role is ideal for someone with relevant purchasing and planning experience who can take ownership and consistently deliver strong outcomes for the business.

We are keen to hear from individuals who are process-driven, value initiative, and are genuinely passionate about what they do and who they work for.

Key Responsibilities

* Manage a diverse global portfolio of suppliers and components to support on-time delivery.

* Own end-to-end purchasing and planning to ensure material availability aligned with production schedules.

* Proactively expedite orders, follow up on supplier commitments, and resolve technical or supply issues to minimise disruption.

* Take ownership of supplier performance and actively chasing outcomes.

* Analyse demand, inventory levels and forecasts to support effective decision-making.

* Investigate and resolve receiving discrepancies with suppliers in a timely manner.

* Coordinate inbound logistics and freight forwarders consolidation of shipments.

* Work closely with warehouse, production and procurement teams to accurately meet production demand

* Identify supply risks early and propose practical, commercially sound solutions and alternatives.

* Contribute to the continuous improvement initiatives across the purchasing and planning functions.

* Collaborate with production, engineering, and finance to align purchasing priorities with business needs.

We are particularly interested in hearing from candidates who possess skills and experience in the following areas:

* Proven experience in strategic planning, purchasing and materials planning

* Previous experience in marine, automotive, or similar manufacturing operations

* Mechanical aptitude, with the ability to understand technical drawings, components, assemblies and production requirements

* Demonstrated ability to problem solve in a high paced environment at times under pressure to meet deadlines

* Competency in Microsoft Office (particularly Excel) and hands-on experience with MRP software (Infor365 Visual experience highly regarded)

* Demonstrated experience working with freight forwarders and managing long variable leads times

* Excellent communication, relationship-building and time management, with the confidence to challenge, influence and drive outcomes.
